Award-winning Xtreme Action Park Goes with Intercard

New System Takes Customer Satisfaction Even Higher at the 2018 AAMA FEC Location of the Year

Xtreme Action Park, the largest all-ages indoor entertainment complex in Florida and the American Amusement Machine Association’s 2018 Family Entertainment Center Location of the Year, recently replaced a debit card system from another vendor with cashless technology from Intercard.

Xtreme’s new system integrates with its proprietary customer kiosks and SMS Timing POS system. More than 180 Intercard readers control the more than 150 games in the FEC’s 5,000 square foot game room. Customers can also use their game cards for access to many of Xtreme’s other attractions, including virtual reality, a dark ride, Bazooka Blast and roller skating.

Nate Howard, managing director of Xtreme, chose Intercard primarily for its reputation as the leading designer and manufacturer of cashless technology. “I wanted someone that made purpose-built card readers and built a back office and a front office that supported game cards and arcades.  Furthermore, I needed a support team that will always be there 24/7,” says Howard.

His goal was to make Xtreme’s games and attractions even easier for customers to use while improving the facility’s guest throughput. “Customer satisfaction increased immediately when they could check their [card] balance on the floor rather than having to wait in line at the front desk,” says Howard. “When they go into the redemption prize center guests can swipe their card, see how many tickets they have and go right back out to the game room.” This frees up employees to work on other tasks.

“Intercard’s technology gives Xtreme capabilities beyond what they had before,” says Alex Orban, Intercard’s vertical sales manager. “It handles cash and credit card sales and will allow them to go completely cashless when they choose.”

Howard also chose Intercard because it came out ahead of the competition in his analysis of total cost of ownership of its technology. “Though price was not the top priority, when it came down to price they were more competitive than all other players in the market on the basis of total cost of ownership,” says Howard.
