Intercard has completed a major installation for High 5 Lanes & Games’ newest location at the TBK Bank Sports Complex in Bettendorf, Iowa, one of the largest sports complexes in the Midwest.

High 5 Lanes and Games is a partner in TBK, an example of a growing trend to develop venues that offer indoor and outdoor facilities for soccer, basketball and other sports along with gyms, eateries, retail stores and entertainment activities. The 76-acre complex is expected to draw a large audience of families who live in the area or are visiting for the many amateur sports tournaments to be held there.

The 50,000 square foot two-story High 5 offers a multitude of exciting attractions including 32 lanes of bowling, a two-story laser tag arena, escape rooms, and a 65-game arcade with redemption. It also has a restaurant, bar and snack bars and dedicated rooms for parties and business meetings.

High 5’s “Player Card” debit card can be used to pay for bowling, laser tag and food and beverage purchases as well as arcade game play. The Intercard system controls every aspect of arcade management including card sales, redemption and service. It consists of more than 65 card readers plus iTeller kiosks and redemption stations and integrates with High 5’s Brunswick Sync POS system.

High 5 is also managing debit card sales for other venues in the TBK complex, and one reason they chose Intercard was the ability to offer multiple branded cards controlled by one system. “We wanted something that we could brand five different cards, for all the individual businesses and then all work throughout [TBK] irrespective of which point of sale they were using,” says Scott Emley, president and founder of High 5 Lanes and Games. “Whether they’re playing on a game in the game room of High 5 Lanes and Games, or whether they’re buying a hat, or whether they’re buying a hotdog at the concession stand, it all works on one system.”

Emley appreciates Intercard’s cloud installation, which enables users to get reporting from multiple locations no matter where they are. He says that will be essential as High 5 opens more locations across the country. High 5’s original location is in Austin, Texas and Emley plans to open at least one new FEC a year.

Emley also had praise for his Intercard sales rep, Amber Collier. “She is a fantastic advocate for the customer,” he says. “When you know you have that kind of relationship with your rep, you know they’re going to take care of you. You know they understand your operations and there’s something to be said for that.”
